With 23 lakh people watching the full live broadcast, the Bigg Boss OTT 2 finale has the largest viewership of any live event in India.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan hosted the Bigg Boss OTT 2 finals episode on Monday, which brought in a record-breaking 72 lakh concurrent viewers on Jio Cinema’s digital platform. The full live broadcast of the grand finale, in which YouTuber Elvish Yadav won the winner’s trophy, was streamed by 23 lakh spectators.
Sources connected to the site claim that during the 15-minute period that saw the voting lines open for the two finalists, Elvish and Abhishek Malhan, during the finals, 25 crore votes were cast.
According to a press release from Jio Cinema, over the two months that Bigg Boss OTT 2 was streamed on the platform, there were 245 million video views and 540 crore votes. After the IPL, it also claimed to have the largest audience of any live-streamed event in India.
For the finale, over 10 crore distinct people tuned in, and approximately 3000 crore minutes of viewing were completed. The statement went on to say that major viewership contributors included Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh.
